From the Jackson County Slheriff's Office
At approximately 3:00 a.m. on the morning of March 15, 2016, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a fire near the Houston County and Jackson County line on Kins Road. The barn was loaded with several bays of hay and equipment. At or about the same time a fire was reported on Hwy 2 where more bales of hay were also on fire. Houston County Sheriff’s Office verified that another fire was attempted to be ignited on Antioch Church Road. This is a joint investigation with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Fire Marshal’s Office and the Alabama Fire Marshal’s Office.
