From Marianna Police Department
On Wednesday April 20, 2016 at approx. 7:51 am officers responded to the scene of a traffic crash where one vehicle had rolled over. Upon investigation in was determined that a Blue 2006 Chevy Cobalt, driven by Cheryl Garcia of Cottondale, was traveling north on 5th Street. The Chevy Cobalt failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign and pulled out in front of a white 2001 Ford Explorer traveling west on 2nd Avenue, driven by Latisha Opfermann of Marianna. The impact caused the Ford Explorer to roll over coming to a rest facing south east. All occupants from both vehicles were transported to a local facility by Jackson County Fire Rescue to be treated for their injuries. This traffic crash is still under investigation by the Marianna Police Department.
