From Jackson County Sheriff’s Office
On May 7, 2016 Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded and began an investigation into residential burglary in the Grand Ridge, Florida area. The perpetrators kicked the door in and stole a number of items from within the residence.
During the course of the investigation Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office obtained a vehicle description along with the description of two male subjects. On May 26, 2016 a deputy observed a vehicle meeting the description of the one at the burglary scene. The deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for a tag violation and was able to determine that the driver Delvin Smith was one of the burglary suspects.
Delvin Smith admitted to the burglary and the other suspect was also identified as Joe Valdez. Sheriff’s Deputies traveled to Delvin Smith and Joe Valdez’s residence located on Old Spanish Trail in Sneads, Florida. Deputies were able to recover all the property that is known to have been stolen in the burglary.
Delvin Smith was arrested and charged with: driving with suspended or revoked license, burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, grand theft.
Joe Valdez was arrested in the early morning hours of May 27, 2016 and he was charged with: burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, grand theft.
