The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office would like to ask for the assistance of the public in attempting to identify suspects or the suspect’s vehicle in a theft of a utility trailer.
On Friday the 20th of May, 2016 between the hours of 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM a black 2013 utility trailer was taken from a residence on Hwy 77, north of Graceville. The trailer was approximately 16 feet in length with a wooden floor and side rails but no rear tailgate. The trailer also had a Mississippi license plate (T1821R) displayed.
The trailer was removed from the residence by unknown suspects in what appears to be an approximately 2006 Chevrolet Suburban, which appears to be gold or pewter in color. The vehicle makes more than one trip in the driveway before leaving with the trailer due to the trailer having a tongue lock. The trailer also had a large chain through one of the rims and around the springs, which would have resulted in the trailer being drug away from the residence and possibly onto a side road to cut the chain.
It is possible that the suspect and the suspect’s vehicle are familiar with the Graceville area and may even be somewhat local to the area.
