From Jackson County Sheriff’s Office
On Friday June 24, 2016, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force made a series of arrests as part of an ongoing investigation in the Trafficking and distribution of bulk quantities of Crystal Methamphetamine in Northern Jackson County.
During the course of the investigation, Investigators were able to determine that Scott Allen Smith was ultimately responsible for trafficking multiple pounds of Methamphetamine into Jackson County and later distributed them from various locations.
Arrest warrants were obtained and executed charging Scott Allen Smith with 2 counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine and 2 counts of Sale of Methamphetamine. Further investigation lead to the development of a second suspect, Jeffrey Tyler Land, who was also arrested as a result of his involvement in these cases. Jeffrey Tyler Land was charged with Principle to Trafficking Methamphetamine.
As the case continues to develop, more arrests are forthcoming.
