On Tuesday, August 09, the People’s South Bank in Greenwood was robbed. Following a 911 call, the Jackson County Sheriff’s office was notified by an off-duty EMT/Firefighter who witnessed two suspects run out of the bank and get into a vehicle waiting on Highway 69. The off-duty firefighter followed the vehicle until law enforcement could intercept the suspect vehicle. Officers from the Sneads Police Department as well as Sneads Police Chief Burt McAlpin gave pursuit before the vehicle escaped their pursuit. One suspect was later arrested at Creek Casino in Gretna.
Friday, August 19, in Tampa, Florida an anonymous tip identified Ron Howard Sr., Ron Howard, Jr. and Bulmario Molina as suspects in the robbery which occurred on August 9 in Jackson County, Florida. Ron Howard, Sr. and Molina already had outstanding felony warrants for their arrest and Howard, Jr. was on felony probationary status with the Department of Corrections. After the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office positively identified the suspects, assistance was requested from the U.S. Marshalls and all three defendant’s cases were adopted by United States Marshalls Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force. Investigative leads placed both Howard, Sr. and Howard, Jr. in the Tampa area. Both Howard, Sr. and Howard, Jr. were arrested by task force members in Tampa on Friday August 19, 2016.
